Ravya Singh, Myra Patel, and Jasveen Kaur, all netted braces to propel VCM Arya Vidya Mandir (Bandra) into the girls U-14 Div-I semi-finals with an emphatic 6-0 win over Ascend International (BKC) in the Dream Sports MSSA inter-school football tournament at Wings Sports Centre, Bandra, on Tuesday.
Ravya broke the deadlock in the sixth minute before Myra doubled their advantage five minutes later, to give AVM a 2-0 lead at half-time.
After the break, Ravya completed her brace in the 22nd minute before Jasveen joined the scoring spree in the 27th minute with a neat chip over Ascend goalkeeper Sahana Basu. Two minutes later, Myra netted her second with Jasveen then capping off the win by completing her brace in injury time.
Meanwhile, St Anne’s (Fort) edged out Don Bosco International (Matunga) 1-0 in another girls Div-I quarter-final played at the same venue. Ayesha Khan scored the decisive goal in the 17th minute for St Anne’s.
