Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola lavished praise on mid-fielder Alexis Mac Allister, backing him to continue his rich vein of form when they take on a struggling Fulham side in the English Premier League on Saturday.
Mac Allister’s thunderous strike helped the Reds begin their Champions League campaign against Atletico Madrid with a 2-1 win, and while he is yet to score in this EPL season, he has shown a remarkable upturn in form after struggling for most of the last league campaign.
“I said it before the [Atletico] game, I consider him [Mac Allister] a great player and I think he understands the game very well. He also has the experience that is very good for quite a young team like we are right now. I’m very happy to have him in our team and I hope he can keep this level of performance. And if he can even improve it, much better,” said Iraola.
