FIFA World Cup 2026: Norway achieves rare feat during the match against Iraq

In the FIFA World Cup 2026 match against Iraq, Norway secured a scintillating 4-1 win at the Boston Stadium in Massachusetts.
The clash marked one of the rarest moments in the sport`s history as Norway became the first team in the tournament to field three sons of former World Cup players in the same game.
On June 17, Norway`s star footballer Erling Haaland, Alexander Sorloth, and Kristian Thorstvedt took the field for the clash against the Iraqis.
Earlier, 32 years ago, during the FIFA World Cup 1994, Norway had fielded Alf-Inge Haaland, Goran Sorloth, and Erik Thorstvedt, the fathers of incumbent players of the national team (Erling, Alexander, and Kristian).
