Football icon Cristiano Ronaldo turns from football to film

Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has had a blockbuster career on the field, collecting accolades and goals by the boatload. Now, the former Real Madrid forward is determined to have just as much success off it, in the realm of film production and acting.
According to British tabloid The Sun, Ronaldo, 41, has become the executive producer of an upcoming fictional drama series called Day1s, which will revolve around the life of a football agent, who will be played by the actor Damian Lewis.
The Al-Nassr striker is even set to get a role in the series along with former Arsenal and France legend Thierry Henry.
Regarding the series, an insider told the British publication: “After the World Cup, there’s a renewed interest, particularly in the States, in British football. It’s one that’s been growing for some time with shows like Ted Lasso. But this isn’t a sitcom. It’s definitely a drama, with some comedic elements.
It’s likely to spark a bidding war between the streamers. The sheer calibre of figures behind it, not to mention the cast, means it’s a prestige project.”
