Former adult star Mia Khalifa earned a whopping $1.6 million (approximately Rs 16 crore) from a bet she placed on Spain defeating Argentina in the FIFA World Cup final.
On Monday, Khalifa, 33, Instagrammed pictures of herself while watching Sunday’s final at New Jersey along with the winnings she collected, to her 28.8 million followers. “Believed and won big. So proud of my home country Spain [not a drop of Spanish blood in me],” she captioned the post, which received nearly a million ‘likes’. One of the pictures in the series shows the actor-turned-media personality betting a jaw-dropping $1 million (around Rs 9.65 crore) on Spain at odds of 1.65. Spain won 1-0 after extra-time, making Khalifa an estimated net gain of around R6.27 crore after tax deduction. Khalifa was going to root against the Argentines no matter what.
She had posted a video supporting either France or Spain from the semi-final. “I was prepared to root against Argentina no matter what,” she had said.
