Millwall defeat Maccabi Tel Aviv to win Sydney Alexander football title

Millwall beat Maccabi Tel Aviv 4-3 in a dramatic tie-breaker to clinch the Sydney Alexander Memorial Carnival football title at the St Stanislaus Sports Complex, Bandra, on Sunday.
Both teams had quite a few scoring chances, but the goalkeepers, Scottish Moraes of Millwall and Justin Dias of Maccabi stood tall, taking the goalless encounter into the tie-breaker.
In the shootout, Millwall converted their attempts through Joel Barnes, Jonathan D’Gama, Karim Shaikh, Ryan Dsouza and Scott Moraes while Maccabi scored through Jayesh Sutar, Egan Fernandes and Shreyas Zeve.
Millwall custodian Moraes, who was brilliant under the bar, was named Best Goalkeeper of the tournament, while Maccabi’s Egan Fernandes won the Golden Boot for his six goals. Millwall’s Asad Munshi was adjudged Best Player of the tournament.
