Former Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp has been tasked with reviving German football following their shocking exit in the round-of-32 stage at the FIFA World Cup in June-July. And the 59-year-old has already laid down a few strict rules for the national squad, including a ban on haircuts for players while on national duty.
Klopp wants his players to groom themselves before joining the squad so that they can focus only on training when they assemble. Some of his other rules include arriving together and on time for team dinners to strengthen bonding, banning mobile phones during training and matches, and limiting family involvement during major tournaments.
Germany will face the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League tonight, with the match marking Klopp’s first game in charge.
